Independent Contractor Agreement

The Secret Shopper Company will request your services on an assignment-by-assignment basis. You are an independent contractor, and not an employee or agent of The Secret Shopper Company.

The Secret Shopper Company does not withhold taxes from your compensation. We will also not pay any taxes on your behalf.  If you make more than $599.00 in one year, The Secret Shopper Company will, however, provide you with a 1099 form.

When The Secret Shopper Company notifies you of an assignment either by e-mail or telephone, you may either accept or decline. Acceptance of an assignment creates an implied contract between you, as the independent contractor, and The Secret Shopper Company.  If conflicts arise, you must notify The Secret Shopper Company scheduler 48 hours in advance, either by telephone or e-mail, so that we may reschedule the assignment.  Not doing so jeopardizes your status with us, and with any database you have listed with.  We report all shopper "no call/no shows."

Each assignment varies in scope and pay.  Sometimes, services and products go along with your compensation; however, do not assume that you may purchase something and be reimbursed for it, unless stated in the shopping directions.  Reimbursement also varies, and is often limited to a specific amount.  The Secret Shopper Company does not reimburse for mileage, postage or telephone calls. These are the responsibility of the shopper.  In addition, all reimbursements require an applicable receipt, when requested.  Please initial all receipts.

You are not to duplicate, disseminate or divulge information relating to The Secret Shopper Company to anyone, without prior written consent. Our client's privacy is of the utmost importance. As a trusted participant in the secret shopping process, you promise to keep all information confidential.  Finally, you agree not to accept an assignment if you are an immediate family member, employee or an ex-employee of a client. You should immediately let our scheduler know if this applies.

By checking this box, I confirm that I have read and understand the Independent Contractor Agreement, above. Also, by filling out the following Shopper Application, you are agreeing to be bound by the Independent Contractor Agreement above.
